Excursions
Our excursion from Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate starts after meeting your driver/guide at your hotel or another location in Marrakech. He will take you on a drive over the High Atlas mountains, admiring the stunning views of valleys and Berber villages. Here, you can take a stop for some good photos whenever you want. Your driver guide will choose the most attractive sites for you to snap pictures of; one of them should be on Tizi N Tishka, the highest route in the country, where you can observe the gorgeous winding roads through the mountains. At noon, you will arrive at the historical village of Kasbah Ait Benhadou, where you will stop for a visit to one of the oldest and best-preserved mud villages in southern Morocco; it is also a Unesco World Heritage site and has served as a filming location for Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and other films. The next destination will be Ouarzazate, where you will see Atlas Studios, where many popular movies such as The Mommy, Prince Of Persia, and others were filmed. You can take a guided tour inside the studios if you want. If not, you can simply take photographs from the outside.
Afterwards, we start our journey back to Marrakech where our trip ends.
Your driver will pick you up at 08:30 a.m. to begin your Essaouira day tour from Marrakech, enjoying the natural surroundings. Essaouira is a medieval city noted for its annual Gnaoua music festival and a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are many things to admire during your Essaouira day trip from Marrakech, such as its pleasant weather due to its proximity to the ocean, La Skala, place Moulay El Hassan, the port, the ramparts, and the Jewish district; you can take a stroll through its amusing narrow streets exploring ancient French and Portuguese architecture, enjoy the beach, visit the harbour, and enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the fishing port restaurants. Return to Marrakech in the evening, around 6 p.m.
Your departure time will be at 9 a.m., and you will travel 64 kilometers from Marrakech through the narrow roads of the Ourika Valley surging into the high Atlas, a river surrounded by greenery. The valley is located southeast of Marrakech and is a popular spot for Moroccans and visitors to walk and relax.
Water runs through the rocks between the reddish slopes or clinging communities and terraces, watering the little meadows.
Setti Fadma, with its waterfalls, is the most beautiful site in the valley, 7 kilometers further on.
Enjoy tasty tajines in one of the many traditional restaurants before embarking on a camel ride or simply walking to observe the area’s stunning scenery.
Your departure time will be approximately 7 a.m. You will travel 150 kilometers from Marrakech, passing through various villages and typical Moroccan cities.
You will arrive at the Ouzoud waterfalls after a three-hour drive. You will get four hours to explore the scenery and its natural beauty. Visit the area’s monkeys and birds, swim, or simply relax near the waterfalls with a cup of coffee.
You can also eat a tasty tajine while observing the area’s stunning landscapes in one of the many traditional restaurants.
Return to Marrakech at 7 p.m. after a pleasant and relaxing day.
